12/1/24 — About selling wheat, let’s talk about our 2024 trade team season. We have largely crossed the finish line for Montana this year! While we did not receive the crazy totals of post-Covid travel like we did in 2023, we had enthusiastic and engaged visitors this year.

10/1/24 — The 2024 National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) annual Montana survey spoke loudly about the impact wheat stem sawfly has on growers and the entire supply chain. Funded each year by the Montana Wheat & Barley Committee (MWBC), it clearly shapes how the industry develops new varieties and it plays a major role in determining what Montana producers plant.

Companies Race to Bring More Hybrid Wheat to the U.S. 11/20/24 — Corteva is the latest company to announce its intention to develop proprietary non-GMO hybrid technology. It plans to launch hybrid hard red winter (HRW) wheat as early as 2027 in North America, adding to its portfolio over time, the company shared in a recent press release.

Kansas Wheat launches campaign conveying the benefits of wheat beyond the value of grain — Kansas Wheat, in collaboration with Kansas State University researchers, has officially kicked off a new educational campaign aimed at farmers, landowners, financial institutions and policymakers.

Telling agriculture’s story 12/4/24 — My interest in the ACE program started before ACE was ACE. I was on the MFBF Board of Directors when the concept was formed into what is now ACE. Later my interest peaked talking with previous graduates of ACE and listening to their enthusiasm. A program with keynote speakers, one-on-one training, a group of fellow Farm Bureau members, and the tools to better my ability to speak on why I love agriculture. My only thought is why did I not do it sooner.
